Broadway Across Canada Announces Exciting Lineup for 2026-2027 Season
Broadway Across Canada is set to bring an iconic lineup of shows to Vancouver, Calgary, and Edmonton during the 2026-2027 season, allowing audiences to enjoy Broadway musicals without traveling to New York City. The announcement includes five award-winning productions, promising a magical experience for local communities.
According to Shana Levin, vice president of Broadway Across Canada, the upcoming season aims to foster a sense of community through live theatre. “Live theatre has a unique way of bringing people together, and that sense of shared experience is at the heart of what we do,” Levin stated.
The season kicks off in Vancouver with & Juliet, running from September 29 to October 4, 2026. This musical, created by the Emmy-winning writer of Schitt’s Creek, reimagines Shakespeare’s classic love story with a modern twist and a pop-music soundtrack.
Following & Juliet, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast will be showcased from November 24 to 29, 2026, marking Disney’s first North American touring production of the musical in over 25 years. This revival features new scenic designs and costumes, promising a fresh take on the beloved classic.
Calgary will also host a similar lineup, with & Juliet opening the season from September 15 to 20, 2026, followed by Disney’s Beauty and the Beast from November 10 to 15, 2026. The season will continue with the family-centered comedy Mrs. Doubtfire from January 5 to 10, 2027, and conclude with the revolutionary musical Hamilton from June 15 to 27, 2027.
Edmonton audiences can expect a similar experience, with productions including & Juliet, Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, Mrs. Doubtfire, Hamilton, and the empowering musical SIX, which celebrates the lives of the six wives of Henry VIII.
