Canada to host international matches
The Canada Men’s National Team (CANMNT) is scheduled to play international matches against Chile and Peru in Canada this September and October. These games mark the team’s first home appearances since their participation in the FIFA World Cup 2026. The matches are being presented as ‘The Homecoming’, celebrating the team’s recent performances.
The first match will see Canada host Chile at BMO Field in Toronto on Saturday 26 September, before travelling to Montréal to face Peru at Stade Saputo on Saturday 3 October.
Jesse Marsch, Head Coach for Canada Soccer’s Men’s National Team, commented on the momentum generated for the sport in the country. He noted that these matches provide an opportunity to acknowledge the fans and build upon the team’s achievements at the World Cup.
World Cup performance and upcoming schedule
Canada’s campaign at the FIFA World Cup 2026 included a 1-1 draw against Bosnia and Herzegovina. The team then secured its first-ever World Cup win with a 6-0 victory over Qatar. Despite a 2-1 loss to Switzerland in their final group stage match, Canada advanced to the knockout stage for the first time in its history.
The team achieved a 1-0 victory over South Africa in the Round of 16, with a winning goal scored in the 92nd minute by Stephen Eustáquio. Their World Cup journey concluded with a 3-0 defeat to Morocco in Houston.
During the FIFA World Cup 2026, CANMNT set several records:
- The team earned its first Men’s World Cup point, win, knockout-stage appearance, and Round of 16 appearance.
- Their 6-0 win against Qatar marked the largest-ever World Cup win margin by a CONCACAF Nation.
- This 6-0 victory also tied the record for the largest-ever win margin by a World Cup host nation.
- Canada became the first team outside Europe or South America to score six goals in a World Cup match.
- Jonathan David achieved the first hat trick by a CONCACAF player at a World Cup since 1930, scoring three goals against Qatar.
- The match against Qatar was the most-watched World Cup Group Stage match on record in Canada, with 11.7 million unique viewers and an average audience of 5.3 million.
Beyond these two homecoming matches, Canada’s fall schedule includes the Concacaf Nations League A Quarterfinals in November. Canada finished third in the 2024-25 Concacaf Nations League A, which granted them a bye directly into the quarterfinals.
The quarterfinals will be a two-legged, home-and-away series based on cumulative goals. The winners will advance to the Concacaf Nations League Finals at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles in March 2027. The 2026-27 Concacaf Nations League also serves as a qualification pathway for the 2027 Concacaf Gold Cup, with quarter-final winners directly qualifying.
Ticket information for home matches
Tickets for the matches against Chile and Peru will be available to the public on Friday, July 31. Prior to this, various advance presale windows are offered for CanadaRED members. Fans interested in early access to tickets and other member benefits are encouraged to join CanadaRED.
To access the CanadaRED presales, fans must be a member or have upgraded their membership by 11:59 p.m. ET on the night before their applicable membership tier presale begins.
As the official payment services sponsor of Canada Soccer, Visa is providing its cardholders an opportunity to purchase tickets in advance. The Visa presale will commence on Thursday, July 30, at 10:00 a.m. ET, with Visa being the only accepted payment method during this period.
Group discounts are available for groups of 10 or more tickets for the match against Chile at BMO Field. These groups can receive discounts of up to 30% off regular-priced tickets. Group ticket requests can be submitted through the group order form on canadasoccer.com starting Friday, July 31.
