Valois’s planned gift is intended to help remove financial barriers for students, ensuring that a quality education is accessible to all. He remarked, “It’s not how much you have — it’s what you do with it,” highlighting his commitment to making a difference in the lives of students at Concordia.

A recent study published in the Journal of Consumer Research, led by Aya Aboelenien, a former PhD student of Zeynep Arsel at Concordia, examined the relational challenges faced by vegans. The study identified three types of relational fractures: co-performance, co-learning, and marketplace, shedding light on the personal struggles many vegans encounter that can discourage them from maintaining their lifestyle.
Arsel noted, “A lot of consumption is moral, even if we don’t think it is,” indicating the complex interplay between personal choices and societal expectations.
