The cruise industry faces significant changes with major itinerary cancellations from Royal Caribbean and Carnival Cruise Line, while CroisiEurope celebrates its 50th anniversary.

The cruise industry is experiencing a notable shift as Royal Caribbean has announced the cancellation of over 20 pre-booked itineraries for summer 2027. This decision has left many travelers frustrated, with one British traveler expressing, “Ça me frustre tellement quand ils font ça.” The canceled trips include popular destinations such as the Bahamas, the Dominican Republic, Aruba, and Curaçao.

These cancellations come shortly after Carnival Cruise Line also decided to cancel 11 itineraries for fall 2026, indicating a broader trend affecting cruise travel plans. In a time when many are eager to set sail, these changes have raised concerns among potential passengers.

In a contrasting development, Holland America Line has launched an exciting new 8-day itinerary called Far East Discovery, which is set to depart from Singapore on November 27, 2027. Paul Grigsby, a representative from Holland America, noted, “Ce que j’aime dans cet itinéraire, c’est le contraste que l’on découvre en seulement huit jours,” highlighting the unique experiences travelers can expect.

Meanwhile, CroisiEurope is celebrating a significant milestone, marking its 50th anniversary in March 2026. The company inaugurated the MS R.E. Waydelich L.J. on the Seine, adding to its impressive fleet of over 50 boats. Christian Schmitter remarked, “Cinquante ans, c’est un chiffre important dans la vie d’une entreprise familiale,” emphasizing the importance of this achievement for the family-owned business.

The MS R.E. Waydelich L.J. features 42 cabins and can accommodate a maximum of 81 passengers, supported by a dedicated crew of 250 members for the gala event. CroisiEurope transports approximately 205,000 passengers annually, showcasing its strong presence in the cruise market.

As the cruise industry navigates these changes, travelers are left wondering about the future of their planned voyages. Details remain unconfirmed regarding the long-term impacts of these cancellations and the potential for new itineraries to emerge in the coming months.
