Jocelyn Peterman is set to join Team Einarson as lead and vice for the upcoming curling season, bringing her impressive experience to the team.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Jocelyn to the team. She’s an incredible player with a ton of experience, and we can’t wait to hit the ice with her next season,” said Kerri Einarson, the skip of the team, as she announced the exciting news of Jocelyn Peterman joining Team Einarson for the 2026-2027 curling season.

Peterman, who is 32 years old and resides in Chestermere, Alberta, is no stranger to the pressures and triumphs of competitive curling. She previously played for Kaitlyn Lawes’ team before it disbanded, and her impressive resume includes winning the Scotties Tournament of Hearts in 2016 while playing second for Chelsea Carey. Additionally, she represented Canada at the 2022 Olympic Winter Games in Beijing and will again don the Canadian colors at the 2026 Olympics in mixed doubles alongside her husband, Brett Gallant.

The announcement comes on the heels of significant changes within Team Einarson. The team recently parted ways with longtime third Val Sweeting, alternate Krysten Karwacki, and coach Reid Carruthers. With these changes, Einarson is looking to build a strong and cohesive unit, and Peterman’s addition is seen as a pivotal move in that direction.

Shannon Birchard will transition to third stones, while Karlee Burgess takes on the role of second. This new lineup aims to capitalize on the strengths of each player, creating a dynamic and competitive team as they prepare for the upcoming season.

“I’m really excited to team up with such a hardworking, talented group of women. I can’t wait to get on the ice, learn from each other, and see what we can build together,” Peterman expressed, reflecting her enthusiasm for the new chapter in her curling career.

In February 2026, Einarson captured her fifth Scotties title, a testament to her leadership and the team’s capabilities. With Peterman now on board, the team is poised to continue their success and aim for further championships.

As Peterman and Burgess prepare to play together on Maple United during the inaugural season of Rock League, the curling community is eager to see how this new team will gel. The excitement surrounding Team Einarson’s new lineup is palpable, as fans and fellow competitors alike anticipate their performance in the upcoming season.

Details remain unconfirmed regarding the team’s strategies and training plans, but one thing is certain: the addition of Jocelyn Peterman is expected to bring a fresh energy and depth to Team Einarson as they embark on this new journey together.
