Loni Willison’s tragic fall from a multi-millionaire fitness model to living homeless on the streets of Los Angeles raises a pressing question: how does untreated mental illness and substance abuse lead someone to such a desperate situation? The answer lies in her heartbreaking story.
As of April 30, 2026, Loni is homeless, struggling with untreated mental illness and an addiction to crystal methamphetamine. Once worth an estimated $1.6 million, her decline began after a tumultuous divorce from actor Jeremy Jackson in 2014, which involved domestic violence and alcohol abuse.
Her life spiraled further after losing her job at a Beverly Hills cosmetic surgery clinic and facing eviction by 2016. “It took me more than two months to recover properly. I ended up quitting my job as a plastic surgeon assistant and couldn’t work or get any modeling jobs,” Loni shared.
Despite numerous offers of rehabilitation and housing from friends and professionals, Loni has refused help. “Loni desperately needs our help; she needs to be off the street and in care,” said Kristin Rossettin, a friend. Yet, Loni believes she experiences delusions about being tortured electrically, making indoor environments psychologically intolerable for her.
Loni’s survival strategies include scavenging for food and maintaining a dirty appearance to deter potential predators. “I get robbed all the time. People take my stuff. I basically make myself as dirty as possible so that no one attacks me. The dirtier I am, the better,” she explained.
This tragic situation underscores broader societal issues regarding the lack of social safety nets for survivors of domestic abuse. Loni has been living on the streets since 2016, navigating life with resilience despite overwhelming challenges.
As her story unfolds, it highlights the urgent need for comprehensive rehabilitation services that address both mental health and substance abuse issues in Los Angeles—a city grappling with homelessness on multiple fronts.
