On May 6, 2026, Port Hardy will host its annual McHappy Day, where 10 percent of proceeds will benefit local children’s charities. This event not only supports vital organizations but also engages the community, fostering a spirit of giving.
The Ottawa Senators are joining in this year’s festivities, marking their participation in the 32nd annual McHappy Day. Their involvement aims to raise awareness for families in need within the community.
Several local franchises will welcome Senators players on that day. The Senators Community Foundation has previously demonstrated its commitment by presenting a cheque for $102,000 to Ronald McDonald House Ottawa.
In addition to supporting Ronald McDonald House Charities, funds raised on McHappy Day will assist organizations like the Port Hardy Hospital Auxiliary Society and Reach Child and Youth Development Society.
Key highlights of McHappy Day include:
- 10 percent of all sales benefiting children’s charities
- Children’s crafts and activities available during lunchtime and after school
- $5 raffle tickets for a chance to win an iPad A16, with proceeds going to Reach Child and Youth Development Society
Sarah Kocaba from Reach Child and Youth Development expressed her excitement: “McHappy Day is a wonderful community celebration filled with laughter, connection, and giving back.” This sentiment reflects the heart of the event—uniting people for a common cause.
