Elijah Blue Allman, the son of music icon Cher, finds himself at a critical juncture in New Hampshire. Following a series of arrests—two within just three days—his mother is seeking a conservatorship over him. This move comes amid serious concerns about his mental health and substance abuse.
Currently, Allman is in custody at a locked psychiatric hospital. Cher filed court documents on April 17 requesting temporary control over his estate after he faced charges including felony burglary and criminal mischief. At 49 years old, Elijah has struggled with managing his finances—he receives $120,000 monthly from a trust set up by his late father, Gregg Allman. Yet, according to Cher’s lawyer, he “has no concept of money” and spends it rapidly on drugs and hotels.
Allman’s sister, Devon Allman, has voiced her support for the conservatorship. “It is my opinion that he is currently a danger to himself and unable to manage his life,” she stated. This family concern highlights the deep-rooted issues that have plagued Elijah for years.
This isn’t the first time Cher has sought legal protection for her son. In December 2023, she filed for conservatorship due to alarming signs of declining mental health. The situation escalated when she discovered that Elijah had a daughter named Ever with Kayti Edwards—an existence unknown to her for over a decade.
In an effort to build bridges, Cher invited Ever and Kayti to stay at her Malibu home last September. The relationship between Cher and Ever appears to be developing positively. Kayti Edwards shared that Cher has been reaching out since last June about their daughter: “Cher is really trying.”
The stakes are high as this family navigates complex emotions intertwined with addiction and responsibility. With ongoing legal battles and health concerns, the future remains uncertain for Elijah Blue Allman. Details remain unconfirmed as the situation evolves.
