“The MacBook Neo is just a Mac like any other,” stated a representative during the product launch, highlighting the device’s integration into Apple’s existing laptop lineup.
The new MacBook Neo is powered by an A18 Pro chip, which is also utilized in the iPhone 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max. This chip features six CPU cores—two for performance and four for efficiency—along with five GPU cores, promising robust performance for everyday tasks.
With a base price of $599 and a reduced price of $499 for education buyers, the MacBook Neo aims to provide an affordable option for consumers looking for a reliable laptop.
Weighing in at 2.7 pounds, the MacBook Neo has dimensions similar to the MacBook Air, making it a lightweight choice for users on the go. The device features a 13.0-inch diagonal display that supports only the sRGB color space.
One notable aspect of the MacBook Neo is its fanless design, which contributes to a quieter operation. However, it comes with 8 GB of RAM that cannot be upgraded, which may limit future performance enhancements.
