Åberg currently leads the tournament by three shots, with Michael Thorbjornsen trailing in second place, five shots back. Cameron Young is in third place, while Xander Schauffele, who started the day in second, ended in a tie for fourth.
Rickie Fowler and Jordan Spieth will share a final-round tee time at 8:25 a.m., aiming to make a significant impact as the tournament concludes. The Players Championship is known as the PGA Tour’s flagship event, and this year features a purse of $25 million.
The final round is set to conclude on March 15, 2026, with the forecast indicating a 30% chance of scattered showers in the morning and a 30-50% chance of thunderstorms after 4 p.m. ET.
As players navigate the challenging course, Cameron Young remarked, “It’s pretty much if you hit a bad shot you make a double for the most part. So, there’s not much room for error and, yeah, it’s taxing.” He also expressed optimism, stating, “But I also feel like could I shoot 8- or 9-under, so like we saw with JT last year, he shot 10, you know.”
