sabres vs golden knights — CA news
The Buffalo Sabres defeated the Vegas Golden Knights 2-0, extending their road point streak to a franchise record 11 games. Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen earned his first shutout of the season.

“It’s a tough trip in regards that you’re gonna play four games in six nights,” said Sabres coach Lindy Ruff following his team’s latest victory.

The Buffalo Sabres secured a 2-0 win against the Vegas Golden Knights at T-Mobile Arena, with Ukko-Pekka Luukkonen making 27 saves for his first shutout of the season. This victory not only marked a significant achievement for Luukkonen but also extended the Sabres’ road point streak to a franchise record of 11 games, boasting a record of 10-0-1.

Josh Doan opened the scoring against Golden Knights goaltender Adin Hill, while Josh Norris sealed the game with an empty-net goal with just 57.6 seconds remaining. The win propelled Buffalo into a tie with Carolina for first place in the Eastern Conference, both teams now sitting at 90 points.

This match was particularly notable as it completed the regular-season sweep against the Golden Knights, following a previous victory in Buffalo on March 3. The Golden Knights, on the other hand, faced their third shutout of the season and their first at home, a disappointing outcome for the team.

Adin Hill managed to make 23 saves during the game, but it was not enough to prevent the Sabres from dominating the match. Buffalo has been the winningest team in the NHL since December 9, with an impressive record of 31-6-2, accumulating 64 points during that span.

Despite the victory, the Sabres were without forward Alex Tuch due to illness, while Tyson Kozak made his return to the lineup for the first time since March 3.

Looking ahead, Buffalo will visit San Jose on Thursday, while Vegas is set to host Utah on the same day. Both teams will be eager to build on their recent performances as the season progresses.
