IRCC Announces New Express Entry Draw
The IRCC has issued 250 Invitations to Apply (ITAs) for Senior Managers with Canadian Work Experience in its latest Express Entry draw, which took place on March 5, 2026. This draw marks a significant milestone as it is the first for this specific category, introduced as part of a broader overhaul announced in February 2026.
To be eligible for this draw, candidates needed to achieve a minimum Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 429. Additionally, applicants were required to have created their Express Entry profiles before 3:10 p.m. UTC on August 19, 2025.
The introduction of the Senior Managers category is part of IRCC’s ongoing efforts to streamline immigration pathways and address labor shortages in key sectors. This draw is the fourteenth Express Entry selection of 2026, contributing to a total of 39,362 ITAs issued across various draw types this year.
In 2026, the IRCC has conducted draws that include categories such as the Provincial Nominee Program, Canadian Experience Class, and those based on French-language proficiency. Notably, there have been 24 ITAs issued under the Canadian Experience Class and 14 under French-language proficiency, among others.
The new category for Senior Managers with Canadian Work Experience is expected to attract skilled professionals to Canada, enhancing the country’s workforce and economic growth. This initiative reflects the government’s commitment to adapting immigration policies to meet the evolving needs of the labor market.
As the IRCC continues to refine its immigration strategies, observers are keenly watching for further updates and potential changes in draw criteria or categories. Details remain unconfirmed regarding future draws and their specific requirements.
