Nazem Kadri Trade Announcement
On March 6, 2026, Nazem Kadri was traded from the Calgary Flames to the Colorado Avalanche, a significant move that marks a return to the team where he previously won a Stanley Cup in 2022.

Olofsson, who joins the Flames, has been a solid contributor for the Avalanche this season, tallying 25 points (11 goals and 14 assists) in 60 games. Meanwhile, Curran has been impressive in the junior leagues, with 41 points (14 goals and 27 assists) in 31 games for the Edmonton Oil Kings.
The Flames currently sit in 15th place in the Western Conference, and General Manager Conroy noted the importance of the trade, saying, “The whole thing is to get back in the playoffs, to get going in the right direction and have these assets and the picks.”
