Thousands of Nissan Rogue vehicles are being recalled in Canada due to serious engine issues. The recall affects over 600,000 units of the 2023 to 2025 Nissan Rogue models, specifically those equipped with the 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine. This recall is a result of two separate notices issued by Transport Canada and the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
Why It Matters
The recalls are significant as they address critical engine problems that could lead to engine failure or even fire. The first recall involves the engine control module (ECM) software, which can cause high oil temperatures that may lead to bearing seizure. The second issue pertains to a potential fracture in the throttle body assembly, which could result in a loss of power and affect vehicle mobility.

Dealers will be responsible for reprogramming the ECM software, inspecting for diagnostic trouble codes, and conducting test drives. They may also need to inspect the oil pan for metal debris and replace the engine if necessary. Owner notification letters are expected to be mailed by March 27, providing further instructions for affected vehicle owners.
