Hail has also been a major concern during this severe weather event. Reports indicate hail measuring up to 4.5 inches near Camp Wood, Texas, and 5.2 inches in Kankakee, Illinois. Additionally, 3.5 inches of hail was reported near Lake Waukomis, Missouri, and 3 inches near Campus, Illinois. These conditions have contributed to the hazardous environment across the region.
Flash flooding has compounded the challenges faced by emergency services, particularly in Grand Rapids, Michigan, where 6 to 10 inches of water covered the roadway on I-196 at Exit 76. The combination of tornadoes, hail, and flooding has created a precarious situation for residents and responders alike.
