Service on all GO Transit lines has resumed after a police investigation caused significant delays. A deceased person was found at Union Station.

What does the recent police investigation at Union Station mean for GO Transit commuters? Service is running on time again on all GO Transit lines after the investigation caused delays earlier this week.

On March 16, 2026, a deceased person was found at Union Station, prompting a thorough police investigation. This unfortunate event led to significant disruptions for commuters, but as of today, all services have returned to normal.

In addition to the investigation at Union Station, there was another incident involving a GO Transit bus that rolled into a ditch on Yonge Street in Barrie on March 14, 2026. Fortunately, all 10 people on board, including the driver, were unharmed, and no injuries were reported.

The bus incident led to the temporary closure of Yonge Street for both the investigation and the recovery of the vehicle, further complicating travel for many in the area.

Amid these challenges, local resident Nick Mazzotta has taken action to help fellow commuters. Frustrated by the frequent delays, he created a website to track GO Transit delays, which has already attracted around 5,000 unique visitors since its soft launch. Mazzotta noted that rush hour is typically when most problems occur for both GO trains and buses.

“Nothing is more frustrating than getting to the train station, only for them to update that board on the track as you’re waiting, saying that the trains will be another 20 minutes,” Mazzotta expressed, highlighting the shared frustrations of many commuters.

His website has seen about 500 daily users, reflecting a strong community interest in improving transit reliability. Mazzotta aims to alleviate some of the stress commuters face, stating, “Nothing’s worse than having a sh**** commute in the morning, and you show up at work, and you’re mad, so if I can make people’s days a little better, then that’s cool.”

Complaints about TTC disruptions and GO Transit delays have become increasingly common, making Mazzotta’s initiative even more relevant.

As the community moves forward, the focus will remain on ensuring reliable service and addressing the concerns of commuters. Details remain unconfirmed regarding any further investigations or changes to service protocols.
